Overview

We are seeking a skilled Power BI Developer to design and develop impactful data visualizations and reports that drive business insights. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Power BI, data modeling, and DAX, with the ability to work across data pipelines and contribute to dashboard modernization initiatives.

 

Location: Edmonton, AB

Status: Contract (Fully Onsite)


Responsibilities:

  • Develop Power BI Reports:
    - Create and maintain Power BI tabular reports
    - Work with diverse data sources and optimize or create new data models
    - Utilize DAX for advanced calculations and report development
  • Data Engineering Support
    - Extend existing data pipelines as needed
    - Create tables and develop stored procedures in the Fabric Data Warehouse, subject to bandwidth availability
  • Dashboard Modernization
    - Contribute to updating and modernizing Power BI dashboards
    - Focus primarily on tabular reports during the initial phase of engagement

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience with Power BI development, including data modeling and DAX
  • Familiarity with SQL and stored procedure development
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and experience with Fabric Data Warehouse (or similar)
  • Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to evolving business needs

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in dashboard modernization projects
  • Knowledge of ETL processes and pipeline optimization 
  • Fabric experience is a plus
